LE SCULTURE DI ANGELO MARIA BRUNELLI TRA CASERTA E CARDITELLO. IL CONTRIBUTO DEI DATI D'ARCHIVIO
The construction site of the Royal Palace of Caserta was the scene of extensive cultural exchanges and training school for many young artists from various parts of Italy. Luigi Vanvitelli formed generations of architects, sculptors and painters. It was particularly significant the contribution of an entire family who moved to the service of King Carlo from Firenze to be used in almost all the artistic and technical specialties of the yard from the mid-eighteenth to the nineteenth century. Among the members, Angelo Waria Brunelli distinguished himself in sculpture. From the discovery of unpublished archival documents, the contribution aims to highlight particular sculptural works, made for the Royal Palace of Carditello, which denote a decorative taste similar to the first project of Luigi Vanvitelli for Caserta.
