IL BAMBÙ COME MATERIALE DA COSTRUZIONE STRUTTURALE ECOSOSTENIBILE. L’IMPIEGO ESTESO AL CAMPO DEI MATERIALI COMPOSITI

The Bamboo is one of the oldest building materials used by man, due to its cheapness, variability and flexibility, capable of ranging from domestic to industrial productions. In many countries of the tropical belt, its use has always been strongly linked to the production of handicrafts, but also of numerous other objects and works, such as the scaffolding of skyscrapers, the needles of phonographs, regulators, aircraft coatings and, in small percentages, of bicycles, airships, windmills, scales, retaining walls, ropes, cables. In the last seven thousand years, it has also been widely used in structural engineering for the construction of bridges and houses in the densely populated regions of the aforementioned tropical belt.
